← Back to Dashboard
📅 25 September 1974 📍 South Africa

SASO and Black People's Convention supporters held solidarity rallies despite a government ban. They celebrated Mozambique's movement towards independence and connected it to the struggle against apartheid. Police repression and arrests followed. The events demonstrated that liberation in neighbouring countries could strengthen political confidence inside South Africa and threaten the apartheid state's control of public assembly.
