A state of emergency confronts the Black Power movement

← Terug naar het dashboard
📅 21 April 1970 📍 Trinidad en Tobago

Repression revealed a conflict within an independent state over how far decolonization should extend into property, employment and governing institutions. Protesters' demands went beyond the replacement of a colonial flag.
