← Back to Dashboard
📅 29 August 1970 📍 United States

Thousands marched in East Los Angeles against the Vietnam War and its burden on Mexican American communities. Police intervention turned the gathering into a violent confrontation in which journalist Rubén Salazar and others were killed. The mobilization connected unequal opportunities at home, military service abroad and the right of a racialized community to organize politically.
