Following concerns raised at the National Summit on Islamophobia, Taxpayers’ Ombudsperson François Boileau opened a systemic examination of Muslim-led charities’ experiences with the Canada Revenue Agency. The inquiry would examine audit selection, service and unconscious-bias awareness, and invite racialized charities to share experiences. It was an accountability process, not a completed finding of discrimination.
