A national remembrance service in Christchurch brought together the Muslim community, Ngāi Tahu, public authorities and other participants. Ardern’s speech called for everyday action against hate rather than leaving responsibility to government alone. Collective mourning was linked to a public commitment to inclusion. The service recognized victims and affirmed solidarity while the work of preventing anti-Muslim violence remained ongoing.
