The Bakke judgment reshapes affirmative-action struggles

← Back to Dashboard
📅 28 June 1978 📍 United States

The divided judgment became a major reference point in struggles over access to elite institutions. It exposed competing understandings of equality: identical treatment of individuals and measures addressing historically structured exclusion.
