The Bristol bus boycott begins

Campaigners launched a boycott against the Bristol Omnibus Company’s refusal to employ Black and Asian bus crews. Caribbean community organizing and wider support challenged discrimination in employment. The campaign confronted racism within a public transport workplace and the institutions that defended the company’s colour bar.
