📅 19 Juni 1953 📍 Verenigde Staten

Black residents of Baton Rouge began a bus boycott against discriminatory seating arrangements. The United Defense League and T. J. Jemison helped organize collective pressure and alternative transport. A compromise brought only limited change, but the campaign demonstrated how an excluded community could challenge a public service by withholding the fares on which it depended.
