Muslim advocates give parliamentary evidence on institutional Islamophobia

← Back to Dashboard
📅 11 June 2019 📍 United Kingdom

Iman Atta of Tell MAMA and Miqdaad Versi of the Muslim Council of Britain gave evidence to the Home Affairs Committee. They discussed the nature and scale of Islamophobia, public discourse, definitions and institutional discrimination. The hearing allowed Muslim advocacy organizations to bring research and community experience into formal scrutiny. Evidence to a committee was not itself a court finding or enactment of new legal protections.
