The US Supreme Court ruled for the EEOC in the Abercrombie case involving Samantha Elauf, who had worn a headscarf to a job interview. Avoiding a religious accommodation can violate Title VII even without an explicit accommodation request. The Court reversed and remanded the case. The decision strengthened protection against employment practices that exclude applicants because of anticipated religious needs.
