The Muslim Council of Britain’s first national Visit My Mosque day invited members of the public into participating mosques. The initiative created opportunities to meet Muslims, ask questions and encounter local religious life directly. It challenged hostile representations through community agency and dialogue. Participation in one event did not mean that prejudice or structural discrimination had disappeared.
