📅 27 Augustus 1983 📍 Verenigde Staten

A twentieth-anniversary mobilization returned to Washington under demands for jobs, peace and freedom. Civil-rights and labour participants carried banners linking the unfinished promises of the 1963 march with contemporary economic and political struggles. The gathering treated freedom as requiring material opportunities and organized public pressure, rather than assuming that earlier civil-rights legislation had eliminated racial inequality.
