Thousands marched through London following the New Cross fire, passing the site of the tragedy and taking their protest towards Parliament and Fleet Street. The New Cross Massacre Action Committee challenged the marginalization of Black grief and demands for justice. The demonstration made self-organized Black political action visible nationally and confronted the power of both government institutions and the media.
