ANC delivers its 109th anniversary statement under COVID-19 restrictions

The ANC marked 109 years since its founding without the usual large rally, door-to-door activities or community gatherings because of COVID-19 restrictions. Its NEC statement called for unity and organisational renewal and reflected on historical liberation struggles and continuing economic exclusion. The move to a restricted format showed how the pandemic changed the movement’s public organising practices and member contact.
