← Back to Dashboard
Organization history 📅 23 June 1992 📍 South Africa

After an emergency meeting of its National Executive Committee, the ANC broke off bilateral and multilateral negotiations. It accused the government of complicity in the political violence and issued demands addressing violence, security forces and the negotiating process. The ANC said it remained committed to a negotiated settlement, but argued that talks could not proceed without action against state-linked violence and impunity.
