According to Malcolm’s diary and the AUB timeline, he met members of the newly formed Palestine Liberation Organization in Cairo, including its first chairman Ahmad al-Shukeiri. The meeting situated Malcolm’s human-rights campaign within an emerging international debate over Palestinian self-determination. The PLO was newly formed, and accounts of the encounter depend on diary and archival reconstruction.
