← Terug naar het dashboard
Biografie 📅 21 September 1960 📍 Verenigde Staten

During Fidel Castro's visit to New York for the United Nations General Assembly, Malcolm helped arrange for the Cuban delegation to stay at Harlem's Hotel Theresa after downtown hotels refused them accommodation. The meeting connected Black struggles against US segregation with anti-colonial and anti-imperialist diplomacy. Harlem's role as a site of international encounter challenged the idea that foreign policy belonged only to white officials and elite institutions.
