Iran launches Operation Dawn 10 in Iraqi Kurdistan

Lord Trefgarne said Britain favored a further Security Council resolution imposing an arms embargo on Iran to secure implementation of Resolution 598.

Iraqi missiles struck populated neighborhoods of Tehran. Iran answered with a missile at Baghdad and reported attacking an Iraqi launch site as urban exchanges continued.

Iranian protesters hurled rocks and firebombs at the Soviet embassy in Tehran. Demonstrators blamed foreign arms supplies for Iraq’s attacks on Iranian cities.

MEES reported Saipem awarded the northern section of a planned Gurreh–Bandar Taheri oil pipeline. Iran sought a new export route as attacks exposed existing terminals and transport facilities.

Oleandrov acknowledged Soviet deliveries of short-range missiles to Iraq but denied authorizing modifications able to reach Tehran. His statement came during missile attacks on Iranian cities.

MEES reported Iran increasing imports of gas oil and other light products after refinery damage. Wartime attacks affected civilian supply as well as military financing.

Madarshahi submitted a complaint about an alleged chemical attack on Garmab and continuing missile attacks, bringing another civilian-protection claim before the UN.

Iranian forces and Iraqi Kurdish fighters took Halabja during the Dawn 10 offensive. Iraqi aircraft attacked the city with chemical weapons the next day; that attack is a separate record in Batch 001.

Iraq launched another missile barrage at Tehran and bombed other Iranian cities. Its pressure for a ceasefire coexisted with renewed harm to residential areas.
