📅 23 July 2019 📍 Canada

NCCM and CCLA sought leave to appeal the refusal to suspend Bill 21 pending their legal challenge. The application continued resistance after an adverse interim decision. It separated the urgent question of temporary protection from the ultimate constitutional merits of the law. Seeking permission to appeal did not establish that the appeal had succeeded or that Bill 21 was already invalidated.
