The Dutch government formally rehabilitated Tula, leader of the 1795 Curaçao uprising against slavery. The ceremony took place on 4 October local time after bad weather interrupted the planned 3 October event. The recognition followed longstanding Curaçaoan advocacy and challenged the colonial portrayal of resistance as criminality.
