The NFWA and AWOC joined to form the United Farm Workers Organizing Committee. The merger consolidated cooperation between predominantly Mexican American and Filipino farmworkers. Their common organization strengthened collective bargaining and boycott campaigns against an agricultural labour order that had profited from racial segmentation and weak worker protections.
