Following the recommandation of the First Committee, the special session of the General Assembly decides to appoint an eleven-member United Nations Special Committee on Palestine (UNSCOP) consisting of the representatives of nine European or European-settled countries (Australia, Canada, Czechoslovakia, Guatemala, The Netherlands, Peru, Sweden, Uruguay, and Yugoslavia ) and two non-European countries (India and Iran ).
