Digital preservation connects scattered temple mathematics

The 1 September 2025 article uses the Rhind Mathematical Papyrus to explain practical problems from ancient Egypt.

Problems involving fractions, areas, volumes and distribution reveal a structured instructional tradition.

The document preserves a chain of transmission and reminds readers that surviving artifacts may reproduce still earlier works.

The publication connects object history, translation and mathematical reconstruction for a general audience.

The publication describes a digital project documenting Japanese votive tablets that combine geometry, art and religious practice.

Decisions about cataloguing, translation and access influence which problems and makers become discoverable.

The project treats sangaku not as isolated curiosities but as evidence of communities that made and shared challenging geometry.
