Ministry of Public Health of Chad
Chad eliminated the gambiense form of human African trypanosomiasis as a public health problem.
Surveillance and access to diagnosis and treatment supported Chad’s achievement.
The WHO validation concerned a specific form of sleeping sickness and a defined public health threshold.
The announcement followed similar WHO validations in other African countries.
