The results of a ring-vaccination study in Guinea showed high protection against Ebola.
Participants, health workers and contact-tracing teams made the outbreak trial possible.
The trial offered vaccine to people linked to new Ebola cases to study whether infection could be prevented.
The published results came after the major outbreak and informed later prevention efforts.
