Sangaku Archive
The publication describes a digital project documenting Japanese votive tablets that combine geometry, art and religious practice.
Photographs, transcriptions and metadata can bring locally held objects into a searchable research collection.
Decisions about cataloguing, translation and access influence which problems and makers become discoverable.
The project treats sangaku not as isolated curiosities but as evidence of communities that made and shared challenging geometry.
