MK and the National Committee of Liberation attempt a joint operation

MK and the National Committee of Liberation carried out a joint operation against a telecommunications substation and power pylon. The substation attack failed and only part of the pylon was damaged. The operation reflected cooperation across anti-apartheid formations, while its limited result illustrates that underground armed resistance was difficult to coordinate and did not guarantee success.
